PEC Employees Donate More Than 750 Toys to Area Santa Programs

Efforts to Help Brighten the Holidays for Children, Families Across the Hill Country

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(JOHNSON CITY, Texas) December 18, 2025 — Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC) employees will be spreading cheer this holiday season to area families in need. Across its offices, PEC employees donated more than 750 toys, including 12 bikes and six scooters to community toy drive programs throughout the Texas Hill Country.

Robben Thompson, president of Highland Lakes Christmas is for Kids, thanked PEC employees for their contributions this season. “We’re grateful for our corporate donations, including PEC’s, that come directly from employees,” Thompson said. “This is our 34th year providing for children who might not otherwise wake up to presents under the tree, and we’ve always had phenomenal community support with gifts, financial donations, and volunteer hours.”

PEC Community Outreach Specialist Kevyn Packer led the toy drive for PEC. “It makes us proud to see our employees generously give back with donations for children in our service area,” Packer said. “We hope these gifts will lift families in need and help make the holidays magical for them.”

This year’s donations will benefit the following organizations:

  • Blanco County Brown Santa
  • Burnet County Santa’s Helpers
  • Comal County Operation Green Santa
  • Hays County Brown Santa
  • Highland Lakes Christmas is for Kids
  • Junction Church of Christ Toy Drive
  • Leander Police Department’s Operation Blue Santa
  • Liberty Hill Operation Blue Santa
  • Travis County Brown Santa

In 2024, PEC employees donated more than 800 toys to nonprofit holiday programs.
