Crew Safety
PEC crews work 24/7 to keep the lights on for our members. When you see them in the field, do your part to keep them safe.
Move over, slow down
Before you hit the road, don’t forget to move over and slow down for vehicles pulled over with flashing lights — it’s the law! This includes PEC bucket trucks with amber-colored lights, as well as police, fire, and emergency vehicles. Drivers must move out of the lane closest to the utility vehicle when possible, or slow down to 20 miles per hour below the posted speed limit.
Do not approach
Never approach a crew or worksite in the field; PEC employees work on dangerous equipment, and you’ll put your safety and theirs at risk. In situations where many outages are occurring, lineworkers will not be able to answer your questions or give your restoration priority.
Identifying workers
To maintain the reliable service you depend on, we may occasionally need to knock on your door or access equipment on your property. If you see someone you don’t recognize on your property, ask them for identification. All PEC employees carry a company ID, and many travel in vehicles with PEC logos and wear PEC uniform shirts.
