Beat the winter bill blues

Take control of your use for a manageable bill

Analyze your energy use

Knowledge is power! Take control of your use with the robust analysis tool in SmartHub. This handy dashboard lets you keep tabs on your daily use so you can anticipate next month’s balance and make changes.

Understand your bill

Remember, each month’s bill reflects your use during the previous month — even if it’s mild today, last month’s weather and events will be reflected on this month’s bill.

Be smart with the thermostat

Heating a home can cost two or three times as much as cooling it. Set your thermostat to 68 degrees or lower during the heating season and 7-10 degrees cooler when you’re sleeping or away from home — this can save you up to 10% per year on your electric bill.

Make sure your appliances are working properly and regularly maintained

Change HVAC filters regularly to ensure your unit works as efficiently as possible. Have a certified technician complete yearly maintenance on your system — a faulty heat pump can cause excessive energy use, and you may not be aware of it until you get your bill.
