PEC’s resume builder podcast series is a great way for students to learn all about resumes, from why they are important to how to create a resume that will stand out. This four-part series contains videos, student video notes, educational resources, and quality resume examples for teachers and students to utilize.

Section 1: Resume Basics

In the first section of our podcast series, Mikayla and Codie will cover the basics of resumes. You’ll learn what a resume is, how it is used, why they are important, and the do’s and don’ts of resume crafting.

Section 2: Formatting and Structure

In the second section, Mikayla and Codie dive into the formatting and structure of a resume. This video covers the different components of a quality resume, teaches you why formatting and structure are important, and gives you some tips and tricks for resume crafting.

Section 3: Crafting a Standout Resume

For the third lesson, Mikayla and Codie will teach you all about making sure your resume grabs the attention of reviewers. You’ll learn the importance of using powerful, actionable verbs in your descriptions and how to properly demonstrate your skills and contributions.

Section 4: Tailoring your Resume

Next, Mikayla and Codie will introduce you to Applicant Tracking Systems. You’ll learn what they are, how they are used, and how to make sure your resume makes it past their review system.
