PEC supports our communities by supporting our students.

Education powers the leaders of tomorrow. That’s why PEC is proud to support Central Texas through its youth programs, educational foundation giving, and scholarships. Each year, PEC awards $100,000 in scholarships to regional students who will attend the college, university, technical school, or trade school of their choice.

Applications for 2026 scholarships are now closed. Applications for the 2027 scholarship program will open in January of 2027.

2026 applications are now open and will close at 11:59 p.m. on February 25, 2026.

Eligibility for Submission

  • Be at the 12th-grade level in private, public, or homeschooled education.
  • Have a parent or legal guardian who is a PEC member in good standing (or be a PEC member as defined in the PEC Tariff).
  • Plan to attend a university, college, junior college, technical, or trade school to obtain an undergraduate-level degree or trade certification.

Rules

  • Applications for a PEC scholarship must be submitted online via the PEC website. Applications submitted by mail or dropped off in person at a PEC office will not be accepted.
  • No more than one entry per applicant may be submitted.
  • Applications must be completed and submitted by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. PEC has the right to extend the scholarship deadline when deemed appropriate.

TEEX Lineworker Career Scholarship

PEC linemen compete against the best in the state at the Texas Lineman’s Rodeo, showcasing their skills in high-voltage linework and safe work practices each year. PEC will utilize some of the Texas Lineman Rodeo funds from winning top prizes to sponsor a portion of tuition for students attending the TEEX Lineworker Academy in College Station, Texas.

TEEX Lineworker Career Scholarship Eligibility

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age by the time they attend TEEX Lineworker Academy.
  • Applicants must have a GED or high school diploma.
  • Applicants must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle driver’s license.

If selected, recipient(s) must have applied, been accepted, and registered for the TEEX Lineworker Academy program before the funds are applied to their tuition.
