Students encouraged to apply by March 20
PEC proudly supports education in Central Texas through its youth programs, education foundation giving, and scholarships. For the 25th consecutive year, we are awarding scholarships to local students who will attend the college, university, technical school, or trade school of their choice. The $100,000 are scholarships is funded by unclaimed property returned to PEC by the state.
Because we know learning is a lifelong journey, PEC also includes a scholarship for an adult seeking to further their education.
“Awarding scholarships to these deserving students is an investment in the future of our cooperative and our communities,” PEC Community Relations Manager Celeste Mikeska said. “We are proud to play a small part in their educational journeys — we know they’ll go on to do great things.”
Each student recipient must be a graduating senior through public, private, or homeschooled education, and the recipient’s parent or legal guardian must be a PEC member in good standing. PEC will also award a scholarship to an adult seeking to further their education. The adult recipient must be a PEC member or reside in a household served by PEC with an account in good standing.
Applications open February 1. The deadline to apply for a PEC scholarship is March 20, 2024.
