(JOHNSON CITY, Texas) July 5, 2025 — Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC) is responding to power outages following July 4 storms and localized flooding across the Texas Hill Country.

PEC crews are working diligently to complete repairs and restore power to members across our service area particularly in Burnet and Williamson counties. These areas within PEC’s service area have been hit hardest with significant rain and floodwaters. Crews are working as safely — and quickly — as possible. Restoration has been steady, but continued flooding on roadways, bridges, and low-water crossings have slowed progress.

PEC crews will continue working until every member has power restored.

PEC urges members to stay away from high waters and report any downed lines. Debris from flooding and fast-moving water can weaken utility poles. If you see downed poles or power lines stay back and immediately call PEC’s emergency line: 888-883-3379.

Members experiencing outages can report them four ways:

  • By texting “outage” to 25022 from the mobile number on your account. Message and data rates may apply.
  • Online at map.myPEC.com
  • Through the PEC SmartHub app
  • By calling 888-883-3379

Follow outages and restoration progress online at myPEC.com/outages.
