PEC to award $100,000 in scholarships

Students encouraged to apply February 1-March 20

Pedernales Electric Cooperative proudly supports education in Central Texas through its youth programs, educational foundation giving, and scholarships. Each year, the co-op awards$100,000 in scholarships to regional students who will attend the college, university, technical school, or trade school of their choice. The PEC Scholarship Program is funded by unclaimed property returned to PEC by the state of Texas. Because we know learning is a lifelong journey, PEC also includes a scholarship for an adult seeking to further their education.

“Providing these scholarships is one of the many ways the cooperative works to strengthen our communities,” PEC Community Outreach Specialist Celeste Mikeska said. “We know the deserving recipients of these scholarships will use their educations to help build a brighter future for us all.”

Each student recipient must be a graduating senior through public, private, or homeschooled education, and the recipient’s parent or legal guardian must be a PEC member in good standing. The adult recipient must be a PEC member or reside in a household served by PEC, and in good standing. Applications open February 1.

The deadline to apply for a PEC scholarship is March 20, 2023. Learn more and apply at pec.coop/scholarships.
