PEC Accepting Applications for Teacher Spotlight Awards

Nominate a Teacher by October 25

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(JOHNSON CITY, Texas) October 1, 2024 — Rooted in community, Pedernales Electric Cooperative is committed to providing educational and youth programs to help brighten classrooms and communities for Central Texas students. PEC is now accepting nominations through October 25 for its Teacher Spotlight Award. The purpose of the award is to recognize teachers who consistently go above and beyond to support students in their classrooms and their communities.

“Teachers have the ability to impact a student’s life trajectory by helping them discover and use their talents to chase their dreams and give back meaningfully to their community,” said Kevyn Packer PEC Community Outreach Specialist. “This award is about thanking those teachers who inspire future generations to be their best selves and who lift our communities in extraordinary ways.”

Anyone can nominate a teacher by filling out this quick form online. Once nominations are received, PEC will select teachers from across the Cooperative’s service territory to receive awards. Winners will be announced in November, and PEC will visit the teachers at their schools to present them with a thank-you basket of materials to support classroom learning.

“If you’ve been wanting to commend a teacher who has gone above and beyond, nominating them for this award is the perfect opportunity to say thanks,” Packer said.
