Members Only: You’re our Focus

PEC Exists to Serve You

PEC is more than an electric utility, not because of us, but because of you. As a cooperative, we are member-owned and member-run, which means we’re member-focused. We don’t earn a profit or answer to shareholders; instead, we use funds to invest in the safety and reliability of our electric system, and any remaining money is returned to members like you through capital credits.

You belong to the largest electric cooperative in the nation, and we’re still growing — faster than ever! We’re proud to power more than 400,000 meters, which means we serve over a million Central Texans.

But we’re more than just the nuts and volts. We know the strength of our cooperative lies in the strength of our communities. You’ll find PEC and our employees raising money for local nonprofits and providing scholarships for hard-working students. They’re also volunteering and donating to causes in our community, and engaging young members by hosting and participating in events.

You can also participate in the cooperative by speaking at board meetings or running to serve as a board member yourself.

It’s your cooperative.
