PEC hosted four Meet a Lineworker Day events in Kyle, Cedar Park, Bertram, and the Bulverde/Spring Branch area between July 19-24. The events were part of Camp Save-a-Watt™, our free, online camp that teaches kids in kindergarten through third grade about energy conservation, nature exploration, and electrical safety.
Our mascot, Wattson Raccoon, joined the 180 campers as they learned about what our heroes do every day in the field to bring power to their homes. The increase in attendees can be credited in part to our partnership with local libraries, such as the Kyle Public Library, the Cedar Park Library, the Joann Cole Mitte Library in Bertram, and the Mammen Family Public Library in the Bulverde/Spring Branch area.
”We are so happy to see so many kids interested in learning about these men and women who perform important tasks every day to keep our power on,” said Celeste Mikeska, community relations manager. “We want to thank every lineworker, volunteer, and Wattson Raccoon for coming out and providing these kids a great experience at each event.”
