Co-op shows appreciation by meeting members where they are

(BERTRAM, Texas) Sept. 26, 2026 — Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC) is committed to meeting its members where they are and to supporting its communities. Today, as part of a series of member appreciation events, PEC sponsored the Bertram Oatmeal Festival’s Run for Your Oats 3.3-mile Fun Run. The race kicked off at 8 a.m. with a record 310 participants. To support its members participating in the race, a team of PEC employees posted up along the sidelines with posters and smiles to cheer the runners along.
PEC also provided a cooling tent for participants and runners also received a bag of goodies from the co-op.
“This is such a fun way to show love and support to our Bertram members and the community,” said PEC Community Outreach Manager Celeste Mikeska. “We enjoyed engaging with everyone and providing a safe, comfortable spot for participants to come by, say hello, and rest. It was an honor to be part of this special day in Bertram.”
Oatmeal Festival Committee Member, Anastasia Vance added, “It means a lot to have PEC’s support for this year’s Oatmeal Festival. This is a beloved event for families and everyone here in the community of Bertram. We’re grateful to PEC and thrilled that they could celebrate and be part of it along with us. It was great seeing everyone out there today and we’re already looking forward to next year.”
