Powering our future leaders forward

PEC offers a variety of programs for our younger members

At PEC, we’re committed to empowering our future leaders as they learn, grow, and begin imagining the futures they can build.

Through classroom visits, hands-on activities, scholarships, leadership opportunities, and career exploration, PEC is investing in the bright minds that will shape our communities for years to come.

Elementary resources

We want to help our students grow from the moment they step into a classroom, which is why we offer a range of programs and resources for students in kindergarten through fifth grade, including the Literary Expedition Library, circuit builder lessons, and more!

Camp Save-a-Watt™

Our free, online summer camp provides an engaging opportunity for our youngest members to learn about the importance of electrical safety and energy conservation. The camp also features in-person events, like our annual Solar Car Derby and the chance to meet a lineworker and our mascot, Wattson Raccoon!

High school programs and resources

Our programs don’t stop once students reach high school. As they prepare to enter college or the workforce, they can take advantage of opportunities such as Youth Tour and scholarships and receive resume assistance through our LED Program. Through career days and events like Job Shadow Day, we also show students what a future in linework could mean for them.

As they move through high school, some students in our service area are consistently going above and beyond for their fellow students, teachers, and communities. To recognize their exceptional work in exemplifying the cooperative difference, we award Power Player Awards each fall. Know a standout high school team member in your community? Nominate them before Sept. 17 here!

A school is only as good as the teachers leading it, and we believe in supporting area educators with the resources needed to turn creative classroom ideas into meaningful learning experiences. With PEC’s new Educational Spotlight Grants, $10,000 will be awarded to qualified projects in the fall! All grants are funded by the generosity of members enrolled in our Power of Change Program.

Meet your Crew in Blue!

Throughout the year, our representatives and lineworkers make trips to local schools and community groups to share information about our programs, careers, electrical safety, and more.
