PEC Holds Winter Weather Roadshows

Experts Share Readiness Tips at Senior Centers Across Central Texas

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(JOHNSON CITY, Texas) September 25, 2024 — Just as Pedernales Electric Cooperative prepares year-round for winter weather events, PEC is also committed to educating its members and communities on how to stay safe during emergencies. In tandem with National Preparedness Month this September, PEC experts recently hit the road to share important readiness tips and information at senior centers across the Texas Hill Country. Along with helping PEC’s senior members sign up for text alerts and updating their account information, energy advisors shared conservation tips to help members save on electric bills this winter, and vegetation maintenance staff advised members of free tree-trimming services provided by PEC. They also provided snacks, giveaway items, prizes, and helped members learn to build emergency kits.

“The weather in Central Texas can change from one day to the next, especially during the winter months,” said Beth Koennecke, PEC External Relations Representative. “Our goal is to ensure that we equip our most vulnerable members with the tools, tips, and energy-efficiency knowledge they need to stay safe and comfortable this winter.”

Events were held in Kyle, Marble Falls, and Cedar Park.

Those members who missed PEC’s Winter Weather Roadshow events can request information and update their contact information by calling 888-554-4732 and speaking with an agent.
