Honoring our heroes

Our lineworkers keep your service reliable year-round

When a storm hits and the power goes out, it can be a scary feeling. But at PEC, our members experience exceptional service and fast restoration times thanks to our heroes in the field. This Lineman Appreciation Day — April 18 — keep our crews in mind when your lights come on at the flick of a switch. Their work makes that possible.

Maintaining and operating the infrastructure of the largest cooperative in the nation is no easy task. PEC maintains over 300 miles of high-voltage transmission line and more than 24,400 miles of distribution line that brings power from the substations to your home. Our lineworkers take on the tough task of handling maintenance and outages on the high-voltage equipment throughout our system.

Whether the job means installing new equipment, performing maintenance on existing infrastructure, or restoring a power outage, these first responders will answer the call anytime and during any weather event. They are committed to keeping our system safe and reliable, so your lights stay on.

On this day, and every day, we show our appreciation to these lineworkers. Their commitment to our members is unmatched. If you have a friend or a family member who is a lineworker, remember to send them a “Thank You” anytime they come to mind.
