PEC now accepting nonprofit applications for community grants

Apply by April 3

Pedernales Electric Cooperative proudly supports nonprofits in the Texas Hill Country that work to help strengthen our communities. As part of this cooperative commitment, PECis now accepting applications for its spring round of community grants. Nonprofits within or surrounding PEC’s service area are encouraged to apply for a grant of up to $5,000. The deadline to apply is Monday, April 3 at 11:59 p.m.

PEC awards community grants twice a year to help nonprofits fund technology, capital improvement, or energy-efficiency upgrades. “For the past 85 years PEC has been rooted in caring for our members and the communities we serve,” Caroline Tinsley Porter, PEC community relations manager said. “The beauty of this program is that together, with our members, we can help nonprofits bridge the gap and support their work to lift those in need.”

These important grants are made possible thanks to the generosity of PEC members enrolled in the cooperative’s Power of Change Program. By joining, members can round up their bill seach month to the nearest dollar for charity or contribute with a one-time donation. Since launching in 2016, the Power of Change Program has provided more than $300,000 in funding to more than 74 nonprofit organizations. Last fall, PEC awarded more than $30,000 to six nonprofits.
